@Tomken8d2 Ha, that is funny, a pocket-sized fan. I think in a lot of ways things have improved. In most places you cannot smoke indoors, that is a big plus. Lived in Wyoming for a years and they have (had?) lax smoking law. When I first got there I walked into a convenience store and the cashier was smoking, I thought to myself WTF, did'nt say anything though. Probably one of the reasons I don't drink (used to drink rarely) is because I don't want to breath filth for hours on end.

I think Ca should impose a 10 cents a cigarette tax that would fund a cigarette butt recycling program. I think SF had something like that proposed, but it did not become law. I personally don't mind if people want to eat natural herbal drugs, pop pills, drink or even smoke pot. The good stuff, at least, smells good. But that's just me. Modern processed tobacco on the other hand is loaded with carcinogenic chemicals. It stinks, too.

I think bars and such should be free to allow smoking, fine, I will not go there. But, businesses should accomodate nonsmokers more because it is a good business move. Besides, it is the law in California that no smoking should take place within a certain distance of building entrances, this was being violated at Starbucks, that is partially the reason for the rule change. I know that in the last couple of years professional builders associations have tried to get he word out about Ferrocrete failure associated with improperly protected/placed rebar. This has to decrease the life of the ferrocrete?
