just got braces about 4 hours ago and the hurt like litterly hurt feels like some1s pulling on your teeth from the back and front but i think its worth it for having straight teeth for the rest of your life.

Guys, wax is temp. You shouldn't use it all the time, for everything. If your wires are poking you (trust me, you'll use half your wax in two days.) go back to your ortho. & get them cut! And your teeth will feel sore & crappy for the next week or so, so be prepared! This guy just showed you how to put on wax for three miniutes. :/ Hope I helped!

@crunkinthis Yeah you'll be fine and no it doesn't hurt. The only thing that bothers most people is the tiny rubber bands they put in to make more room between your teeth. It feels like you've got tiny corn kernels between your teeth.They don't do that with everyone. It sounds like you've already been through that, or they didn't do it with you. I remember my jaw being really sore when I had it done and everytime they readjusted them. Bring two aspirin along every time you go there.

@GANGSTAR604 they would need to keep remoulding and make customised mouthgaurds... which means its more harder to make if you have teeth are way crooked and it would be HEAPS more expensive. which is why ppl go for the metal ones coz it can just be adjusted and tightened without making another one. how do i know this? i just got my braces today LOL..

@crunkinthis They don't use any anesthetics. It doesn't hurt to have braces put on. Bring some aspirin along because your jaw will be sore. Every time you go in to have them adjusted take a couple of aspirin; that's all.

@nolldavis Haha when u get braces taken off .. it feels like your teeth are really far back oh and also after u have 'em off.. theres still glue on ur teeth.. i had mine taken of about 2 years ago and i still have hard bits of glue on my teeth.. pretty discusting actually but u get used to it.. also ur teeth feel really smooth haha. I just got my top braces i didnt get spacers or anything just top braces and for me the plastic thing did hurt only because my ortho hsd it sticking my my gums! But getting the brackets on is truly painless and i didnt evenknow he had them on he just said gorinse and i looked in the mirror Andi had brackets! I thought he was justspecially cleaning my teeth!hah and after i rinsed i got the wire andcolors the wire take two seconds and doesnthurtbut the colors give u a little tug but nothing bad..

@vpkmehv2 spacers werent too bad..to me anyways. but I wish I had my spacers on longer than one day becuase when they put the metal bands in the back where the spacers were there wasnt alot of space so they kinda hurt. But braces dont suck that much. You just have to get used to them.

I like the teeth to be kept very dry so that the braces stick better to the teeth. Anytime a tooth get moisture on it while the braces are being put on, the more likely that bracket will come off in the future. Dr. Bergh

This is used to keep the front teeth from coming together all of the way so you don't knock the braces off your lower front teeth. it would be a good idea to call your orthodontist and explain what happened. I'M GETTING MY BRACES OFF TUESDAY 8/24/10!!!!! I'm super duper excited!!!! Braces dont hurt. They make you feel like you have a jumbk mouth at first but that wears off quickly. They do hurt. Hey :) HELP NEEDED! I'm about to get braces and am wondering what your experience of ceramic braces was/is for you . I really don't want my braces to be the first thing that people notice. @2peacelover, Brackets and wires are not suppose to brake and come off. The reason why you broke every bracket is because you ate things you weren't suppose to. Orthodontists don't "lie." They are just trying to help you keep your mouth healthy and ensure you have the SHORTEST treatment time. You are right though, ceramic braces are worth it; especially for adults.

dont worry i cried like crazy when i got mine but after that i was fine the orthos lie they say not to eat gum blah blah blah i eat everything no prob. also, if you break a bracked or wire tell your parents theyll get an appointment to get it fixed i broke almost every single bracket atleast once and the wire tons of times if you can afford it i recomend getting clear braces on the top its totally worth it but dont eat hard carrots theyll break your brackets good luck!!!
