Guys this is a painless procedure so don't be scare if u want to not feel pain after the anesthetic goes away make sure u take a painkiller right after they r done that way by the time the anesthetic goes away the painkiller kicks in. Ask ur dentist for some they have some in their office.

Wow I never seen this procedure either It look so unprofessional compare to the way I had it done I had 3 pulled and one surgical and it took less them 2 minutes for all of them and no hammering. I guess it depends on the dentist knowledge but man this dentist sucks.

idk where you had this done but the oral surgeon ive seen do this type of work is not this brutal tapping on chisels and stuff. first hand from a dental assistant this is a bad video and a good one bad because you get people thinking all wisdom teeth removals involve this they dont that is also what you should put in there. granted impacted teeth its better to be put out but i have very mixed reviews on your video. your dumb for letting someone do this without asking how they remove them.

@thekamloopian Zinc Oxide / Eugenol is still used by some dentists. But there are other polymer that we use for "glueing" temporary filings in. Anyway... remember that what you have is a TEMPORARY. I've seen people keep their temporary for years and we had to redo the whole work due to cavities under the temporary. I would say, use this home technique between appointments. Final crowns are much less prone to "unglue" themselves Source : Dental student

I'm currently learning how to do this in Dental Assisting school. Your instructions were VERY basic. There is a lot more to it than that. I have had to work hard at making the filling the right consistency. Also, It is important to use a dental tool to tap the material in. If its not placed in down all the way it will come out. Right after you do it, floss the tooth BUT only go down. DO NOT bring the floss back up or it may remove your filling. Just push floss down and the pull it out slowly.

@crazybeav The secret in making it stick is to have the cavity really dry before you stick the putty mixture in and then to tamp it in good and snug. A toothpick squared off on one end works good for a tamping rod. It is kind of hard to keep it all dry long enough to get the filling in. Make a dam with some gauze or roll up bit of paper towel and try to dry the void with it or a modified Q-tip or tissue. Then don't play with it with your tongue until it is dry. Fill it before you go to bed

Found some Zinc oxide at an old pharmacy here in town (Canada too eh)...old brown jar out of the basement, lol. 1st filling worked great, but didn't last too long, a couple of days... Wondering if better clove oil will make it harder? 2 1/2 week until I can see my dentist... Maybe longer if I could harden this up a bit, lol.

I've had 3 root canals by different dentists and all 3 have had to be extracted. I fear the dentist, not only because of the pain and cost, but because the ones I've paid good money to, seem to do what makes them the most money and requires the least skill. The outcome was they ended up having to remove about 2/3rds to 3/4 of her lower jaw from front to back. Dr. Mike even commented that he wasn't sure what he was doing was what was best for her. She recovered and was eating. What a tough decision. This was the only episode I've seen where I second guessed whether or not saving the dog was for the best. I hope she adapts and is finally able to live a happy life.

working on young children in my office we do both we do behavior management like mbodal said and we also have them do an exercise. like asking them to keep their leg up. if we are numbing the rite side of the mouth we ask them to hold up their left leg in the air. it distracts them from the needle since their brain at that age isn't able to to concentrate in both area and since the leg thing is harder for kids it keeps them occupied.

The verbal communication seems really good, however; I have 2 notes regarding the injection technique in this video: 1- Usually we need more time between the topical anesthesia and the injection, in this video there was only 20 seconds between the gel application and the injection which is usually not enough. 2- The dental assistant have to set in the other side of the dental chair opposite to the dentist so that she can control any sudden untoward movement of the child's hands
